“Work purchased by the Prime Minister's Office in Norway, Lina's work possesses a visual sense of openness composed of gestural mark-making against rigid architectural structures. This is analogous to the experience of living as a foreigner, being allured by new situations yet incapable of reconciling this sense of dislocation. Her work invites the viewer to enter the painterly space while simultaneously preventing them from completely doing so, seducing and alienating the viewer.”
